Mental health expert talks addiction in parents, families

According to a recent study, about 1 in 4 U.S. children–nearly 19 million–have at least one parent suffering with substance use disorder.

This includes parents who misuse alcohol, marijuana, prescription opioids or illegal drugs.

The U.S. has an addiction problem that spans decades and countless attempts to regulate, legislate and incarcerate have done little to reduce addiction.
