Lawmakers consider legalizing psychedelics for veterans

TEXAS — Texas lawmakers are continuing to discuss the future of THC during this month’s special session, but there is another substance, a psychedelic, that is inching its way toward becoming an approved drug for veterans in the state.

The Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 2308 during the regular session, which creates a pathway for ibogaine to be used as a treatment option for veterans.

Dentist convicted of culpable homicide

The Durban High Court on Thursday, August 22, convicted Durban-based dentist, Anwar Mohamed Jeewa (64) of culpable homicide and several other charges relating to the contravention of various sections of the Medicines and Related Substances Act, namely selling, compounding, or dispensing, manufacturing, and exporting of a Schedule 6 substance without holding a licence or being authorised to do so.
