McGregor: “I Was Saved… My Brain, My Heart. My Soul.”
In his post, McGregor says he worked with “the most forward thinking doctors from Stanford University” and underwent ibogaine treatment at AMBIO in Tijuana, Mexico the same facility featured in the recently released Netflix documentary “In Waves and War,” which he instructed fans to watch.
“It was incredible, intense, and absolutely eye opening,” McGregor wrote. “I was shown what would have been my death. How soon it was to be, and how it would have impacted my children. I was looking down on myself as it happened, and then I was looking out from the coffin.”
He goes on to describe a powerful spiritual experience during the treatment.
“God then came to me in the Holy Trinity.
He is MIGHTY! Jesus, his child. Mary, his Mother. The Archangels. All present in heaven.
I was shown the light.
Jesus descended from the white marble steps of heaven and anointed me with a crown.
I was saved! My brain. My heart. My soul. Healed!”
McGregor says the experience lasted 36 hours before he finally slept and woke up feeling like himself again. “When I awoke I was me again. The most enlightening and enchanting experience I have ever undertaken. This treatment is worth its weight in GOLD! It is very, very tough, but it absolutely saved my life, and in turn saved my family.” He ended that portion of the message by writing, “I am my child again. But this time with the knowledge of my adult!”
Ibogaine, Stanford, and Trauma Treatment
McGregor ties his recovery to a broader movement in trauma and brain injury research.
He references doctors from Stanford University, which published a 2024 study examining ibogaine as a potential treatment for traumatic brain injury, PTSD, anxiety, and depression in military veterans when combined with magnesium to protect the heart. While McGregor doesn’t specify exactly what protocol he followed, he strongly credits the experience with changing his trajectory.
“This treatment… absolutely saved my life, and in turn saved my family. Thank you for all your inspiration, motivation, encouragement, well wishes, support, and most importantly, for your prayers! THEY WORKED!”
He signs off that section in a way that reads almost like an open letter: “To my family, my friends, my fans. My support! My team! Baby, we did it! The World is in for a treat! To God, I am yours!! …I live my life per your word and nothing more.”
